๐ Lord Shiva | ๐ Senganur, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu
Satyagireeswarar Temple is an ancient Shiva temple at Senganur, historically known as Seignalur, in Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk of Thanjavur district. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, praised by Thirugnanasambandar. The temple is especially significant as the birthplace of Chandesha Nayanar, one of the 63 Nayanmars.
The temple has a long Chola-region Shaiva heritage and is traditionally regarded as one of the Maadakkoil temples. Senganur is closely associated with Chandesha Nayanar, whose life and devotion form an important part of the temple's religious tradition. The temple is also associated with the Saptha Vigraha tradition centred on Mahalingaswamy at Thiruvidaimarudur.
