🏛 Temple History

Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple at Tirukannamangai is an ancient and highly revered Divya Desam dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The name "Bhaktavatsala" means one who is affectionate towards devotees. According to legend, Goddess Lakshmi performed intense penance here to marry Lord Vishnu, and the Lord appeared to accept her. The temple is closely associated with Alwars, especially Thirumangai Alwar, who sang hymns praising the deity. The architecture reflects traditional Dravidian style with a majestic rajagopuram and intricate carvings.
