Kachabeswarar Temple is an ancient Shiva temple at Thirukachur, near Chengalpattu. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Kachabeswarar, and the temple is associated with the legend of Lord Vishnu worshipping Shiva in the form of a tortoise (Kachapa). The temple is revered in the Tevaram tradition and is one of the important Shaiva pilgrimage temples of the region.
