Pereyil Jagadeeswarar Temple is a traditional Shiva shrine situated in the Tiruvarur region of the Cauvery delta, an area well known for its rich Shaiva heritage.

Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Jagadeeswarar, while the Goddess is worshipped as Vanavan Madhaviyammai. The temple represents the long-standing tradition of Shiva worship that developed throughout the Chola country.
