Andalakkum Aiyan Perumal Temple(Thiru Aadanoor )

Andalakkum Aiyan Perumal Temple, located at Thiru Aadanoor in Tamil Nadu, is an ancient Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Perumal). The temple is deeply rooted in the traditional Bhakti culture of South India and reflects the early devotional practices followed by Tamil Vaishnavite saints and devotees. According to local belief and temple tradition, the shrine is associated with the form of Perumal who blesses devotees by “guiding and protecting them from hardships”, which is reflected in the name “Andalakkum Aiyan” (meaning the Lord who protects and governs). Historically, the temple is believed to have existed for several centuries and was supported by local rulers and village communities who maintained daily worship and rituals. Like many temples in the Cauvery delta region, it developed around agricultural settlements where devotion to Vishnu was an integral part of daily life.
