🔱 Temple Significance

This sacred site is believed to be the place where the right foot of Goddess Sati fell, making it one of the most important Shakti Peethas. Maa Tripura Sundari represents beauty, power, and divine consciousness.

Devotees believe that worshipping here brings prosperity, success, and spiritual fulfillment. Feeding fish in the nearby Kalyan Sagar lake is considered highly auspicious.

The temple is especially powerful during festivals like Diwali, when grand celebrations take place.

🏛 Temple History

The temple was built in the 16th century by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya of the Manikya dynasty. It has been a major center of devotion and cultural heritage in Tripura since then. The architecture reflects traditional Bengali style with a square sanctum and a unique structure. Over time, the temple has been maintained and renovated while preserving its historical essence. Today, the temple continues to attract devotees from across India and stands as one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Northeast India.
