Devotees believe that worshipping here removes hunger, poverty, and life difficulties and grants prosperity and peace.

🏛 Temple History

The temple is located at Tirupper Nagar near Tiruchirappalli on the banks of the sacred Kaveri River. According to legend, King Upamanyu suffered from hunger due to a sage’s curse. He prayed to Lord Vishnu, who appeared here holding a pot of sweet Appam and fed the king. Because of this divine act, the deity became known as Appakkudathan.
